Crystal Fractal Comics coverage from Wizard World Toronto!

During Wizard World’s Toronto Comic Con on April 14 and 15, I attended the event as an exhibitor with Crystal Fractal Comics. This was my first experience on the other side of the table, as it were, and definitely differed from my experiences both as media and as a fan. Although I spent much of the event encouraging fans to give the Crystal Fractals books a try, Derrek Lennox, CFC founder/publisher, and I ended up giving a number of interviews to small press. We’re still waiting for the rest to be posted, but here is the first of three conducted at Wizard World Toronto. This first one features myself being interviewed by “Rich known as Jack” of Jack and Pookie publishing as we discuss the Crystal Fractal Universe and what we have in store as we continue to build the company. Enjoy!

It was an amazing weekend for me at Wizard World Toronto, being my first experience as an exhibitor with Crystal Fractal Comics. Although I’ve attended several comic conventions over the last two years both as a fan and while reporting for Comic Book Daily, it was a different experience this time around as I spent much of the weekend behind our booth’s tables talking to fans, media and anyone with even a passing interest in the Crystal Fractals line of comics.

We had a lot of successes this weekend. We sold plenty of books from our table on both Saturday and Sunday, and are glad people were willing to spend their hard earned money on our work and give our books a chance. We really care about and believe in the potential our stories have; I received numerous comments that we have an interesting, well thought out plan for our universe. We appreciate the support we’ve been getting from shops and fans alike.

Crystal Fractal Comics appearing at Wizard World Toronto

Domenico and his companions fight a demon in "Entropy #1."

It’s springtime in Toronto and with the warmer temperatures comes convention season for comic book and pop-culture fans across the city. This weekend—April 14, 2012 and April 15, 2012—Wizard is holding their annual convention in the heart of downtown Toronto, thankfully in a much more accessible location than the Direct Energy Centre, Wizard World Toronto’s home for the last two years. Now held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, this year’s event promises a slew of celebrity guests ranging from Sci-Fi cult heroes to pro wrestlers in former WWE star Adam “Edge” Copeland. However, that’s just icing on the proverbial cake if you’re attending, as like I’m sure most are, I look forward to meeting and greeting the wealth of comic book talent on-site, whether they work for major publishers, more independent publishers or self-promote their body of work.

Calling all artists! Calling all artists! Crystal Fractal Comics is on the lookout for new talent!

As CFC pushes forward, we’re always looking for new talent to help contribute to our growing trove of books. Whether through contributions to our CFU, our First Nations projects, or our up and coming Crystal Fractal Visions projects, we’ve been lucky to have tremendous work submitted by the likes of Conan Momchilov, Pedro Maia, Sam Agro, Jae Korim and Jessie Lam. We already have great relationships with many artists and writers alike, but as we grow we’d like to give other new talents the chance to produce work for us. Getting paid is always an issue, so it’s our hope to offer both an opportunity to have a project under your belt, while also getting compensated for your efforts. We’re looking down the road towards the completion of 100-page, fully pencilled, inked and coloured books whereby you would also have the chance to pursue your own projects at the same time and not worry so much about exclusivity. We care about the work we’re doing, and hope to expand our team with some great, talented people.
